At the world’s most influential retail platform, the EHI Retail Institute and Messe Düsseldorf evaluate architecture’s capacity to function as an efficient navigational interface that maximizes physical asset value.   1. Multi-Typology Engineering: Liquid Architecture

Modern retail design is, fundamentally, the strategic management of flows. The technical challenge of our award-winning project lay in the synthesis of four business units with distinct operational dynamics into a single, seamless ecosystem: 

  • Contemporary Art Gallery: Conceived as the project’s narrative and immersive threshold. 
  • Casual Fine Dining: Integrated with high-end culinary standards and operational efficiency. 
  • Jazz & Concert Lounge: A social engine anchored by a commanding central bar for constant activation. 
  • Hidden Disco: A strategic culmination revealed behind a large-scale zigzag portal, designed to segment nocturnal traffic. 

At Modulor, we resolve this complexity through Liquid Architecture—a concept developed in collaboration with leading European institutions. This infrastructure of perforated walls allows for acoustic and visual transitions, optimizing the profitability of each unit without compromising their specific brand identities. 

  1. Phygital Lab: Digitizing Curatorship and Data Management

The innovation we presented during our lecture at the Amber Stage in Düsseldorf was the implementation of an invisible digital layer developed by our Phygital Lab. For high-value assets, technology serves as a traceability and service tool structured in three phases: 

  • Objectification Phase (Touchpoints): Each artwork features a QR code linking the piece to the space’s narrative, enabling the capture of specific interest profiles from the initial contact. 
  • Synesthetic Synergy: The system pairs visual art with gustatory recommendations, creating a “cultural traceability” experience where data personalizes the service. 
  • Designing Belonging: This infrastructure scales the user relationship from a physical Place to the creation of a Community. The goal is to transform the visit into a ritual of loyalty, managing exclusive access to events and pre-sales through a centralized database.

  1. Technical Rigor over Heritage

Complexity intensified when intervening in a heritage building with traditional construction. Modulor’s strategy focused on narrative authenticity: exposing original raw material structures to showcase ancestral techniques, juxtaposed with aged copper finishes and world-class lighting engineering. Integrating global comfort standards—such as longitudinal wood flooring and hand-cut marble—onto a rustic structural base was a decisive factor for the German jury. 

Conclusion: Design as a Business Solution 

Securing the ERDA Winner title confirms that at Modulor Global, we design financial assets where data rigor integrates with architectural intuition. For the global retail sector, this award guarantees a methodology capable of generating belonging and predictable profitability at the highest international level.
